Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is the terminology used to group together different syndromes marked by common characteristics. The approach to children with ASD requires health professionals to have skills, knowledge and an individualized care strategy. Nurses have direct contact with children with autism, which is essential to help them care for children with ASD. This study aimed to analyze nursing care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It was an Integrative Review, carried out between August and December 2023, in the LILACS, Medline and BDENF databases, using the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeSC): “Child”, “Autism Spectrum Disorder” and “Nursing care”, resulting in 8 studies. The results showed that nurses should know how to provide comprehensive care for autistic children, taking into account all the issues involved in ASD, and not just monitoring growth and development. It is concluded that strategies should be developed to provide nursing care to autistic children, which will contribute to the multiplication of health strategies, providing humanized, individualized and resolutive care.
